Death Invades Community Claims Two Victims Calvin VanArsdall
Calvin VanArsdall aged 64 died after a three day illness from gall stone colic following a Tuesday work trip to Indianapolis. He left the station for work, sought medical help, and died at his daughter’s home after being attended by physicians. He was born in Johnson County and survived by six sons and five daughters, including Ivy Newby and Fred Calbert. Funeral services were held at the M church and Maple Hill burial followed. Two sisters from Indianapolis and Tipton attended.

Mrs Ethel Oursler Rites Held After Bellville Death
Mrs Ethel Oursler died at a home one mile south of Belleville after a several day illness. She was the wife of Freda Oursler and mother of Raymond and Louise. Funeral services were held at the home and burial followed at Maple Hill. Relatives attending included Will Oursler of Peoria Carl Oursler of Cleveland Donald Oursler of Indianapolis and Claude Shane and family of Danville.

Commencement for Indiana Boys School Ninth and Eighth Grade
The second annual commencement of the Indiana Boys School was held in the chapel on Friday April 30 after the class banquet. Twenty three eighth graders and twenty six ninth graders received diplomas. Hon Archibald N M Hall gave the address and Superintendent McGonagle handed out special awards. Music by a student orchestra directed by Prof Drake. George Lewis read the class poem which will be printed soon.

A Ford touring car with two passengers ran off the embankment near the I. B. S. entrance and struck a tele phone pole after allegedly speeding west over the bridge. One passenger suffered a deep arm cut with significant bleeding. Dr. Stafford treated injuries. Names of the occupants were not known.

Miss Helen Baldock joins Sherwood Music School of Chicago as faculty and will offer the Sherwood conservatory course locally. The program blends theory sight reading ear training memory harmony history and biographical study with keyboard work and follows a definite start ground and finish. Teenager Fractures Leg In Street Collision
Tra Edwards aged 17 of Flackville sustained a fracture to his right leg after colliding with an automobile driven by Mayer Dickson also 17 of Plainfield at 29th street and Parkway boulevard. Edwards was taken to City Hospital. Dickson was arrested on assault and battery charges.
