The town boards installed an electric siren atop the Symons building to serve as a fire alarm and curfew alert. It will be activated by the telephone exchange, with curfew hours set at 9 pm in summer and 8 pm in winter. The ordinance bans loitering by under fourteen year olds after these times, with fines up to ten dollars for violations.

Chester Hadley Dies. Danville Funeral Held
Chester I Hadley of Vermillion Heights died recently. Funeral services were held Wednesday at Western Avenue Baptist Church, Danville, conducted by Rev. George Woolsey. Hadley, born March 18 1893 in Belleville Indiana, had worked at Wabash station and Illinois Printing, later with Johnson Oil Company. He married Mable O Neal October 15 2015 in Danville. widow and daughter Maxine age three survive, along with sister Mrs Lester Hayden and mother Als Sarah Hadley. He joined the Baptist church in January.

Purdue feed lot reports steer sale under Dean Skinner
Experimental feed lots at Purdue supervised by Dean Skinner and F G King sold seventy three steers weighing about 1150 pounds last Wednesday at 8.40 a hundredweight. The cattle were originally bought in Chicago last December at 842 pounds for 7.25. The stock shows good gains despite no aim for top market prices.
