Plainfield 4th of July Celebration Plans
The American Legion promotes Spend the 4th in Plainfield with a full day of events. Baseball games, band concerts, tug of war, a community auction, mule race, moving pictures, fireworks, dancing, and an outdoor free movie are scheduled. Citizens are urged to decorate with national colors and donate items for the auction.

Mrs Ona Campbell Buried At Aurora
Mrs. Ona Campbell died at Long Hospital Indianapolis after a long illness and five operations. She was brought to her sister Mrs F D Johnson's home and funeral services were held at the Methodist Episcopal church. The body was taken to Aurora for burial Tuesday. She is survived by four children Paul Agnes Johnson Ruth and Bernice Campbell.

Young Bridgeport Man Dies of Appendicitis
Nicholas Harlan, 17, of east Bridgeport, died at Long Hospital Indianapolis from appendicitis after a sudden morning attack. A post mortem revealed rupture. funeral at Bridgeport M. E. church, burial in Russellville. Parents Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Farmers survive.

Next Sunday morning the Methodist Church will skip regular services for an informal Children Day program. Pastor Gardner will present an address titled What Constitutes a Model Sunday School. Caleb Dalton Dies at 93 in Plainfield Home
Caleb Dalton aged 93 died at his Mill Street home at 7 o clock Thursday morning after years of good health followed by a four year decline. Born in Ohio he moved to Plainfield at seventeen and worked as a butcher. He married Mary Jenkins and had six children five of whom survive. Surviving are Wilson Dalton Cora Dalton Frank Dalton Mrs B C Weaver and Will Dalton. He was the town’s oldest resident and a Methodist church member. Funeral is set for Saturday at 2 PM at the home.

Obituary for William Douglas of Plainfield
William Douglas born July 29 1850 on a Plainfield farm died June 20 at 71 years 10 months 21 days. He left a widow Rebecca Hayden, two daughters Carrie Brown and other kin, and one son Harry. Survived by sister Mary C Barton and four grandchildren. A Republican and outdoorsman, he worked 35 years in hay transportation and faced cancer bravely, passing peacefully at home.
