Memorial Services and Statue Unveiled at Indiana Boys' School

Memorial Sunday and Decoration Day events honored deceased officers and veterans at the Indiana Boys' School and Maple Hill Cemetery. Bronze tablets commemorated William Spears Ora Ambrose Paul Stokesberry and David Lovett, with tributes by R. S. McCullough F. D. Johnston and Geo. A. H. Shideler. A statue presented by the school’s students bears inscriptions about service to country and national honor.

Deaths of Mrs Anna Larsh and William J Cox

Mrs Anna Larsh widow of Newton J Larsh of Washington township died of heart disease at 84 after years of invalid status. William J Cox aged 96 a retired carpenter of Cartersburg died of chronic intestinal disease Friday. Funeral held Monday followed by burial at Iron's cemetery.

Mrs. Dorsey Fogleman Buried After Death at Home

Mrs. Dorsey Fogleman of near Danville died at her home last week. Her remains were taken to Plainfield for burial Thursday afternoon.

William Randolph Cox will receive the A B degree at Depauw University commencement in Bowman Memorial Gymnasium Tuesday June 6 at 10 00 o'clock. He completed the degree in three years with part of the work done at Columbia University.

Edwin Sweeney Graduates From Hartford Seminary

Edwin Sweeney formerly of this place graduated from Hartford Theological Seminary last week. He is visiting his brother in Johnson City Tennessee. Also listed are young calves for sale by Frank Kellum of Camby Indiana and a newborn daughter named Sarah born to Mr and Mrs Walter McKnight on May 29.

Eye Clinic for Students In Danville By Red Cross

Hendricks county Red Cross hires Dr. Bernard Larkin to run a free eye clinic at Red Cross rooms in Danville on Wednesday June 7 for grade and high school pupils and all children entering school this fall. Nonparticipants may contribute to offset clinic costs.

Sunday School Convention Special Train Planned from Indianapolis

A special train to the State Sunday School convention in Evansville departs Union Station Indianapolis Monday June 12 at 2 PM with a Hendricks county stop at Clayton at 2 30. Delegates from the county may obtain rate certificates from Jonathan Lowe Litton or Mrs Roy Randolph Danville.

Quaker Oil Becomes State Agent for Racine Tires

The Quaker Oil Company extends its operations as state distributor for Racine Rubber Company of Racine Wisconsin, succeeding I. J. Cooper Co. Indianapolis. Plainfield becomes fire department headquarters with a new Indianapolis branch to be led by R. G. Edwards. Racine tires to be sold from both offices. The road force expands to fourteen tire salesmen, boosting total employees to over 30.

Local man injured in Ben Davis oil truck crash

Orla G. Jordan sustained a broken ankle when an oil truck collided with an east bound Highlander interurban at the Ben Davis crossing. He may lose his right foot. Bristow, a Standard Oil driver, died after being hurled 45 feet. The interurban remained on rails.
