Family Killed by Train in Rushville Crash

Mr and Mrs Chester Phillips of Macomb Illinois were killed instantly when their car was struck by a C B and Q passenger train near Rushville Illinois. Their four year old daughter was fatally injured and died in a Macomb hospital after being taken from the scene. The bodies of the parents were taken to the morgue in Plymouth.

Explosion at Standard Oil refinery rocks Whiting Indiana

Ten seriously injured and nine confirmed dead after a high pressure still exploded at the Standard Oil refinery in Whiting.
