Primaries Fire Up in Three City Wards
Last night’s Republican primaries produced several nominations across the First Second and Fourth Wards. In the Fourth Ward the McArdle ticket led among three slates while Lee Aid Ginna and William H Moore were renominated for council seats. First Ward saw E E Anthony elected as chair and six delegates chosen for the city convention with William G Lee renominated for council and J Fred MacDonald considered for Dunnstabble. Second Ward Balloting named W R Codington as chair and several delegates while Stephen A Gimba won renominatIon for council and W R Mattox chosen for constable. In the Fourth Ward ballots listed top vote getters for council were William H Moore 136, Charles MacDonald 127, George W Voie 120 with Moore defeating for constable 187 votes to 79 for George Rocka fellow. jury still pending.

Funeral of Thomas Ransom Held with Military Honors
A firing squad from Winfield Beatt Post 75 officiated at the funeral of Thomas Ransom of Somerville in this city. Eight rifles fired three volleys over the grave, conducted by Commander Reese and Day Officer McVey. Burial was at Pinckamin with bearers Stryker Hill Johnson of Raritan and others. The Soldier's Auxiliary cared for the deceased’s 14 year old daughter.
