Rain and warmer weather forecast for Tuesday followed by clearing and colder conditions. Local events include a Crescent Rink foot race, Knights of Honor meeting November 19, church gatherings, council adjourned session on Peace Street widening, Y M C A talks, and various arrests, baptisms, and obituaries noted in the Plainfield area.
Walter D Voorhees sixteen year old son of H K Voorhees of 0 Duer street North Plainfield has been missing since November 1. He left with a satchel and clothing after being employed by George H Cook of Liberty street. Inspector Byrnes of New York is on the lookout and parents have searched Elizabeth and Newark. He is of medium height wore a black cheviot coat vest and pants with a cap and bears two scars on his right scalp from a bullet wound and a knife wound.
Two small fires triggered alarms at Box 13 on Saturday evening, one from a kerosene lamp in Hetfield's Row basement and another from a tool shed on East Second Street. both were extinguished with no damage. Esmeralda appears at the Casino with a capable cast led by William L. Saunders, and Plainfield theatre plans include two performances the coming week by the Four Leaf Clover Club and a local company at the Casino. An obituary notes the death of Miss Annie E. Titsworth at 39 West Seventh Street. funeral plans are set for Wednesday. A number of raffle prizes were awarded at the Jr. O U A M fair, while a plate-glass break-in at Eugene M. Laing’s hat store near Park Avenue prompted police alerts. Chief Doane warns fire companies not to suction hydrants without orders.

Officers at the October Sunday School meeting include J M Whiton and E S Suffern. Membership rises mark 244 total with 20 percent increase in 1891. The Cent a Day Club funds support for missions. New members join via various Congregational and Methodist churches. A social series is planned under pastor chair with a novel upcoming event.
At Crescent League Bowling alleys Saturday prizes from a pool tournament were awarded by Howard Emerson. First prize opera glasses went to Fred. 8. 6, second prize a diamond scarf pin to Charles B. Van Winkle, third prize a silver match box to Charles H. Lyman. A stag party followed with Judge Green of New York entertaining and humorist power. B. T. Barnes performed a solo.
A man identified as H. F. Randolph of Eighth Street told police he and two women were shot at while driving on South Avenue near Netherwood station. Sgt. Lynch and Officer Fredrickson searched Netherwood until 3 a.m. for the shooter but failed to locate him.
