Mixed Doubles Lead In Gold Medal Tennis Tourney

Basil Durant and Margaret Blanche win mixed doubles final 6-3 7-5 over J W Latting and Helen Barnett. Durant and Blanche also advance through semis with Norton Fuller, while Blanche prevails in women singles 6-2 9-7. Norton clinches men singles 6-1 6-2 6-0 over Banes.

Annual Masquerade Draws Guests and Prizes

The Carolina club hosted its annual masquerade on Monday with over two hundred dollars in guest contributions and prizes awarded. On Friday evening the Country Club held a similar dance for the Holly Inn and Berkshire.

Polo Fee Pioneers Polo Field Fest with Amusing Contests

Monday afternoon's Gymkhana celebrated the new polo field with brisk competitions for prizes. H I Kirkpatrick and Charles Banes led scores of twelve and eleven, while M D Bullin won the horsemanship test, and Mrs Leonard Tufts took the scarf race. Betsy Baird won the egg and spoon race and Mr Banes the ring tilting, with Kirkpatrick winning the costume race as riders shed coats mid course. Riding Master Taylor and Sankey supervised. field shade, future events planned include football for men, driving contests, and children’s events with prizes.

Magnolia visitors note from Atlantic City and beyond

At The Magnolia Mrs J A Pronns of Atlantic City is completing a short visit. Mrs Austin H Andrews of Watertown comes for a month. Mr and Mrs J C Mahlan of Ridge wood are spending a fortnight here. Mr and Mrs E E Wilbur of Fitch burgh join the golfers. Mr and Mrs A Leavitt of Portland were recent visitors.
