Giant wall map to span the United States revealed

A forthcoming uniform scale topographic map of the United States, drawn under Henry Gannett, will cover a wide area on a single wall hung sheet about 16 by 10 feet. It uses a 1:1,000,000 scale, shows elevation contours, railroads, towns, and drainage, and aligns with world mapping efforts. The project progresses unevenly, with eastern sheets in progress and portions already drawn for several states.
