Moonlight Golf Contest in Moonlit Match at Pinehurst

A Moonlight golf match between Donald J. Ross of the Ro cal Club and Jack Jolly of New York was staged Tuesday night under a brilliant moon. A committee raised forty dollars and the event drew a large gallery. The first shot opened with a chorus of cue voices and a dramatic glow as the ball landed amid perfect conditions for the unusual exhibition.

Record Week Promises Historic Southern Golf Meet

A historic golf week unfolds in the South as the third annual Midwinter and second annual Advertising Interests tourneys join forces. Nearly two hundred contenders, including notable golfers and advertising professionals from across the nation, gather for practice and the start on Monday.

Advertising Tournament Opens with 18-Hole Qualifier

The Advertising Tournament begins Monday morning with an eighteen hole qualifier. Prizes go to the two best gross and two best net scores. Six divisions are planned with trophies for winners and runners-up in each, plus consolation division honors for first-round losers. Additional prizes include four best net scores in a medal play handicap, and eight prizes for driving, putting, and approaching contests.

Midwinter Tournament Opens With Sixteen Cups At Stake

The Midwinter tournament begins Thursday morning with a thirty six hole qualification round and a gold medal for the best score. Four divisions offer the President's Secretary's Treasurer's and Captain's cups for the winners and sterling cups for runners up. Losers in the first round of match play in each division will vie for sterling consolation cups.
