New Year brings largest gathering of visitors

The New Year finds the largest company of visitors ever gathered for the season, with old friends and newcomers forming a congenial colony who may linger until May. The Holly Inn opens January 10 and The Berkshire opens five days later, promising a full midseason calendar through April. Golf, tennis, shooting, and fox-hunting occupy attention outdoors as Northern winter lingers like a lion.
