A sermon argues against a “peace at any price” policy. It cites Jesus’s sword not peace, urges steadfast truth, and rejects retreat from world problems. The speaker insists true peace requires active life and engagement, not stagnation.
Silent skies speak and winds whisper as the Christmas morn unfolds. Nature, forests, fields, and hills join in a reverent song to the King born this day, inviting faithful tribute derived from sacred wisdom.
All Pinehurst gathers at The Hotel Carolina for a Christmas observance tonight. Dinner at seven, concert eight to nine, tree nine to ten, and dancing ten to twelve. Santa arrives Christmas Day. cards say You're invited to the Fete. Music hall closed for a surprise program, tree with souvenir favors, verses for notable guests, an evening to remember.
The Carolina hosts welcome back W. E. Truesdell and Mrs. Truesdell of Brooklyn for January. Also in town are Mr. and Mrs. I. B. Boyd of St. Louis for the month. Henry S. Cattell and family from Philadelphia visit, along with Cabot J. Morse and family of Boston for their annual stay. Mr. Franklin Waterman of New York departs after a short visit with Redfield hosting.
