Contests Draw Crowds In Mixed Golf And Card Meetings
A large field contested four ball and match play events with Robeson and Sweeney leading at seventy-two. Becker, Fownes, Fownes and Aborn tied at seventy-four. playoff produced Becker and Fownes as runners up. Masters Robeson and Gurney won the Match Play Trophy in a boy’s championship final decided Thursday with Stacy Robeson beating W. Griffin three up two to play. Bridge and whist games were noted with multiple players listed. The cotillion program and intermission features were announced as part of social entertainments. Howard Gurney triumphed in the second flight over Jerome Jenks five up three to play. Griffin led qualifiers at ninety-two. Details list numerous participants and attendees.

Mrs Shannon, II, Mrs King, and Miss Fownes led with twenty four each in a putting contest organized by the Silver Foils for prizes from Mrs Herbert L Jillson and the Club. In the playoff Mrs King and Miss Fownes defeated rivals to take first and second. other contestants included Mmes Barnes Phillips Rae Worth Maxwell and Misses Cummings Helmer Shannon and Blanche.

Washingtons Birthday Cotillion At The Carolina
The village enjoyed Thursday evenings Cotillion at The Carolina with full hall, matched by figures favors and decorations. Highlights were a chariot race and a steeplechase with elaborate props and synchronized dancing. Hats, hatchets and costumes in red white and blue spanned a patriotic theme with confetti battle after the final waltz.
