Valentine's Tourney Finals Spark Interest After Long Matches
The Eighth Annual St. Valentine’s Golf Tournament finals delivered drama with matches stretching to nineteen holes. Top matchup featured Dr. C. H. Gardner of Agawam Hunt and C. N. Phillips of Greenwich Country Club, trading leads until Phillips halved the decisive eighteenth with a risky putt miscue. Consolation and other rounds produced zigzag results, with notable wins by Fink, Robeson, and Phillips advancing through semi finals and rounds.
