Kahler and Ranney Win High Guns in Midwinter Handicap
The fifth annual Midwinter Handicap shooting tournament drew an elite field of eighty with pro level pace. Kahler led the premier handicap at twenty one yards with ninety eight, while Ridley was near with ninety seven at twenty yards, as pros Hawkins Starr Skelly topped at ninety four. Kahler captured the high general average with seven hundred sixty six of eight hundred targets, while McCarty won the six hundred target gold with five hundred eighty seven. Ranney shot well from eighteen yards, and Spotts Ward Bruns tied for runner up in the late standings.

In a three round six point system match play event at Tin Whistle, twenty seven qualifiers competed. W E Truesdell offered prizes for first, second and third. George C. Dutton claimed both gross and net with 76. Finalists H G Kiibs, L Robeson and J G Nicholson finished in that order with 41, 40 and 27 points.
