Courageous seven year old helps rebels escape camp
In a Revolutionary War scene Colonel Tarleton occupies a Campbell house as Alec Campbell, seven, ferries his mother’s warning to Marion’s men at Baker's Brook. Alec crosses a river under fire to reach safety while Tarleton’s redcoats search the home. The tale ends with a scarred officer and a cherished spur among Campbell heirlooms.
