Keating lodge Sends Charity to Greenville Orphanage

The Rebekahs of Keating lodge donated 66.40 in cheese and clothing and fifteen cakes to Greenville Odd Fellows home on Saturday the 10th. The Cateechee Sunday school contributed 64.00 to another orphan home a few Sundays prior. The Norris graded school increased state aid by 140 this year and added a teacher, totaling four.

Catholic Services at St Francis Valhalla Nov 25

On Sunday November 25 the fourth Sunday of the month divine services will be held at the Catholic church of St Francis in Valhalla. Mass and sermon are scheduled for 10 30 a m and the public is cordially invited to attend.

Wedding in Norris Baptist Church Unites Nina Griffin and Alfred Mann

Miss Nina Griffin and Alfred Cleo Mann were married at the Norris Baptist Church in Norris South Carolina on Wednesday November 14 at five o clock. The ceremony featured elaborate white and green decorations and a candlelit arch. The service included music by Miss Louise Rhodes of Atlanta and Miss Bethel Mann of Columbia College. The couple was attended by a large party with ushers and a lavender dressed maid of honor Edna Earle. The bride wore a midnight blue traveling suit and petals included roses and lilies of the valley. The Rev J J Willis officiated the ceremony.

The bride, oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joel R. Griffin, wore a taupe hat with matching gloves and shoes, described as a betrothal to a promising Greenville attorney, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Mann of Six Mile. After December 1 the couple will reside in Greenville.

Pick ens County Medical Society to raise professional fees

At a recent meeting the Pick ens County Medical Society decided to raise most professional fees to meet higher living and operating costs. The change takes effect January 1st. The group also urged modification of school rules believed to harm children's health. J. L. Bolt, Secretary.

Singing Convention at Concord In Pickens Township

The Pickens Township Singings Convention meets next Sunday at Concord church four miles west of Pickens at 2 p m. All singers invited with song books to lead a praised song service. Fraternally R L Henderson Hagood school starts term Monday November 26 with Prof Earle Chastain in charge.
