Local notes amid heavy rains and river overflow
Heavy rains last Friday caused the Keowee river to overflow, nearing historic highs. Farmers lag in work while residents like Mrs. Clare Willimon and Ray Childress return home for the summer. Local visits include J C and T A Stewart buying Fords, and Mrs Essie Garrett staying with the Alexanders. A surprise marriage linked Crow Creek’s Thomas G. Oliver to Easley’s Lucinda Couch.
