Tucson Slaying Ruled Not Death by Own Action
A Tucson coroner's jury ruled that Robert Turner died from gunshot wounds inflicted by unknown persons, not by his own action. The .38 caliber pistol was found in Turner's lap while his hands lay clasped on the steering wheel. Autopsy showed instant death from a shot fired less than an inch from his head. Turner, an Anchorage, Alaska, engineer with ties to Portland, Ore., was found dead in his car northwest of Tucson.
