Thomas Shannon Dead After Long Life in Northern Hills
Thomas Shannon, eighty, dies at his family home in Deadwood after a lengthy old age illness. Early northern Hills settler who arrived in 1876, he lived in Crook City during the mining booms and later ran a Cheyenne River ranch near Ash Creek. Survived by a wife, a daughter, and four sons including Charles Shannon of Fort Pierre and Thomas, who runs the Cheyenne River ranch. two sons reside in Nevada.
