Baby burns to death near Ree Heights home
Ten month old girl dies in a fire set by her two year old brother while parents were milking near Ree Heights. The infant, seated in a high chair by a hot stove, had clothing catch fire after the older child lit paper and handed it to her. The parents found the child already dead upon returning.

He worked for the government at the Santee Agency Neb 18 years ago, resigned when pay seemed light, later stopped his pension after recovering from injury, then accepted pension again under a later law for men over 62. He had drawn the pension since.
