Fish Shipping Pact Between U S and Canada Reached

A Washington dispatch reports a nearly finalized agreement on in bond fish shipments via the Grand Trunk railway. It would end discrimination against American and Alaskan catches, allow Canadian fish into U S ports, grant American fishermen access at Prince Rupert, and limit fishing to national waters.

Registration blanks issued for conscription draft rules

Mayor Otness received from the governor’s office the conscription registration blanks and draft law circulars. No date is set for registration, but ample notice will be given. The 12 question card asks name, address, birth, citizenship, birthplace, occupation, employment, dependents, marital status, race, prior military service, and exemption grounds.

Alaska Registration Delayed to Late Summer

Reports from Washington on June 15 indicate a date set between August 15 and September 1 for conscription registration in the Territory of Alaska. Other items note a $3 billion war budget passage, American Lake selected as western army cantonment, and a Tacoma contractor winning a $2.5 million building contract for the training camp. Liberty Loan Over Subscribed by Huge Margin
