ACORN said it will conduct an independent investigation after a sting video showed employees advising a couple posing as a prostitute and pimp to lie about the woman’s job to obtain housing assistance. The group also announced a halt on new admissions to its service programs.

The Clearfield Lawrence Township Airport Authority approved a revised 12 year plan for state submission detailing projects such as a new apron extend Runway 30 by 500 feet land acquisition obstruction removal runway sealing painting a new hangar door and snow removal equipment. It cited a $20266 grant for obstruction removal and a $244000 grant for the apron, while also seeking audit bids to replace two Caterpillar tires and considering cheaper audits from Johnston Nelson Shimmel versus Walter Hopkins & Co.
Montgomery County Commissioner Jim Matthews told The Progress he is forming a team to run for lieutenant governor after addressing Republicans in Luthersburg. He cited healthcare, 6 million lost jobs, a higher sales tax, and Cash For Clunkers as issues, noted Pennsylvania debt rising 56 percent in six years, and praised the budget stance of the state Senate. The event was sponsored by the Clearfield County Republican Committee Western Region meeting at the American Legion.
