Davis sentenced in theft hearing in Clearfield County
Clearfield County Judge Paul E. Cherry presided over a sentencing on Aug 27 after Natashia Davis 25 and an inmate elected to plead guilty. Davis faced a 1 fine and six months to three years in the state prison for women in Muncy, to run concurrently with existing charges, plus conditions including no alcohol, no controlled substances, completing a retail theft program, avoiding Wal Mart, DNA testing costing 250, and a 210 fine for driving under suspension, plus two years concurrent probation for false swearing and unsworn falsification to authorities.

Curwensville School Wins State Loan for Geothermal System
State Rep. Camille George announced Curwensville Area School District secured a 644,280 loan from the Commonwealth Financing Authority to install a geothermal heat pump system with about 200 wells to 300 feet. The DEP found the project technically feasible and a public meeting is set tonight at 6:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium to review proposed renovations and upgrades.
