Willow Park Draws Crowds Near Pendleton
Willow Park in Green Township Hancock County owned by Earl C. Keaton has become a popular pleasure resort along Sugar Creek. Opened last season, it added two bathing pools a dance pavilion and row boats this year. Weekly dances feature Greenfield and Indianapolis orchestras with fried chicken dinners and free admission drawing many visitors including the Progressive Club from Anderson.

Ditch Construction Begins In Adams Township
Walter Hygema of Wakamusha, contractor for the James Ebbert ditch, Adams township, has dredging machinery in position and will begin work today. Excavation starts at the Arch Walker farm. The three mile ditch will be two miles open and the rest tile, costing 17 400 dollars and to be finished by November 15, 1923.

Anderson Girl Injured Diving At Falls Park Pool
Miss Roberta Hollenback age 16 daughter of Mr and Mrs Morris Hollenbeck of 725 West Fourth Street Anderson was severely injured after striking a rock while diving at Falls Park pool Pendleton on Tuesday. A three inch gash opened on her head but she swam to shore unaided.

Charley Oldham Died After Illness In Pendleton
Charley L. Oldham died Sunday afternoon at Anderson hospital after typhoid fever and complications required an immediate operation. He was 56, longtime Pendleton resident, former manager of Pendleton Elevator Co and Falls City Grocery, active in M E church and local lodges. Survived by widow Fannie, son Orville, two grandchildren, and a sister. funeral at Methodist church with burial in Grove Lawn.

Local Freight Hits Ford Sedan on State Street Crossing
A local freight struck a Ford sedan at the State street crossing at noon on Wednesday. The radiator, front fenders and lights were smashed. Mrs E F Madden and her daughter of Champaign were in the car but escaped injury. The group had been guests at the Thomas Clifford home and were bound for New York. repairs kept them from leaving Pendleton until the next morning.
