Prisoner Be W M Reid Escape From Indiana Reformary
Prisoner Be W M Reid alias George Shade escaped Monday at 4 15 pm from the Indiana Reformatory at Fall Creek while on dam duty under Officer Lucas. Shade, sent from Brookville for burglary to serve two to fourteen years, would have expired in November. He entered the Morris home at Fortville around midnight, stole shoes, and fled five miles west of Mohawk by five this morning. If recaptured, two more years may be added at Michigan City and possibly a ten year Fortville housebreaking sentence.

Pendleton Town Council negotiates for a large three tank chemical fire machine on a Ford chassis to improve protection. The unit would cost about 2300 dollars, about 1000 more than current equipment, and could control most fires with chemical aid. I V H Club Plans State Fair Exhibit and Camps
The I V H Club met at the High School and planned the State Fair Exhibit and Club Camps at Muncie August 13 16. Miss R Blanche Allen of Weyland Ind visited the Pendleton Vocational Home Ecumonic Department before starting a similar department in Weyland Schools. The Busy Beer Club meets Monday at 1 30 at the High School with a picnic at Falls Park last Monday attended by about 40 girls.
