PART BIG FOUR WORK TRAIN IS LOST IN BLAZE
A New York Central work train near Seybert’s crossing northeast of Pendleton consumed three cars in a Monday night fire traced to an overheated kitchen stove. The kitchen dining and sleeping quarters were destroyed. several telegraph poles burned and seven adjacent cars were moved away. Losses run to thousands of dollars as farmers and motorists watched the blaze.

Pioneer Woman Mrs Hanah White Dies At 82
Mrs. Hanah White aged 82 a pioneer resident died at her home on s Pendleton Avenue Tuesday morning. Born in Philadelphia she moved to the community as a child and lived here since. She is survived by sister Mrs Mary A White of River Falls Wisconsin and two grandchildren Lola White Minnesota and Dallas White Texas. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church conducted by Rev J Orr Powell. The body was taken to Prescott Wisconsin to be buried beside her husband and children.

Solomon F. Thomas of Pendleton had his will probated by Judge Kittinger. The document directs household goods and a $100 bequest to Robert F. Thomas, with all real estate notes stocks bonds and cash to be shared between Alice K. Whitely and his daughter and son-in-law William P. Cooper. If either dies the others’ portion reverts to the Indiana State Masonic Home. A codicil adds two $1 000 Hawaii Public Improvement bonds to Cooper and a half interest in the estate.

Cooper Illness Leads to Appendectomy at St Johns
