From Helsingfors and London reports several battlefield notes point to advances by American and Italian forces. Americans have moved five miles with captures at Thincourt Tammes and Monsart, while the Italian forces took most of Maveincourt village, leaving only the northwestern corner.
Paris reports German plans to extend a new defensive line from St Mihiel to Mets with Antwerp ports repaired to form the Parsifal system. Such a line would cross central Elzium to Mets, threatening all of France and half of Belgium. British forces seize Rh. Rh. and Vendroles towns northwest of St. Quentin and cross the Canal du Nord near Cambrai.
Pendleton held a registration day event with whistles bells songs and patriotic addresses.
