A party of seven railroad surveyors is working west from Eugene through Elmir toward the Sluslaw river mouth. The Lane County Asset company, backing a local line, knows nothing of the party, which is thought to be hired by James J. Hill for a route from the Deschutes across the Cascades to Coos Bay via Eugene.

It also promotes Ely’s Liquid Cream Balm for nasal catarrh hay fever and colds identical to the solid balm and sold by Ely Bros at 75 cents with a spraying tube.
The notice urges using Foley's Honey and Tar as the remedy for chronic coughs bronchitis hay fever asthma and lung trouble. It emphasizes that the product stops coughing and heals the lungs as claimed by Koeppen Bros.
