Headless Body of Woman Found near Newark Storekeeper Wife

The headless body of Mrs. Alvira Circtel lo of Newark was found here today. The head was discovered in a nearby lot. Fought for life is evident by badly slashed fingers. About two hundred dollars known to have been in her possession is missing.

Damaged Liner Refloated After Grounding at Cork Head

Queenstown on May 30 the Haverford, carrying over 900 passengers, went aground on Cork head. It was freed at high tide with pumps and towed into the harbor. Crew remained aboard and passengers returned to Queenstown before continuing to Philadelphia aboard the Baltic.

Harlow wins contract to build a new theatre on Alta street for C F Colesworthy. Excavation starts this morning and the brick structure with 16 inch walls and eight foot basement aims for completion by September. Cost about 10 000 excluding the lot. Leased to CB Oliphant who will run a high grade motion picture and vaudeville venue. Oliphant drew the plans as a University of Clinels civil engineer graduate.

London May 80 Ambassador Page was presented to the King at Buckingham Palace today. The royal carriage appeared at Coburg Hotel where Page stopped and the ambassador was driven to the palace. Page wore ordinary evening clothes. Later the Earl of Shaftesbury presented Page to the queen.

Earthquake Shakes Denver Seismograph Records

An earthquake starting at 6 40 and ending at 6 01 this morning was recorded by the seismograph at Sacred Heart college in Denver. Professor Forstill estimates the disturbance occurred about 1500 or 2000 miles distant, resembling Alaska events from last June.
