On Long Creek T B Hinton started for Pendleton with work horses to sell. J F Harryman arrived from Pendleton Saintesy with freight for Long Creekers and Charlie Osborne heads there for another load. Mrs J H Hewett visits Pendleton. Wilson brothers and Henry Conger’s crew go to Ukiah. Lawyers Davis and Leedy report a rich placer ground on Desolation creek with 160 acres and water, plus samples of old gold. They return to Canyon City with commissions. Oregon’s forest reserve plan divides into districts guarded by 25 rangers, only 2& announced so far, with more expected.
