Dr Mann in the Commercial Association Building lost gold scraps valued between $10 and $40 after a passkey entry. Police Chief John Kearney investigates both cases with no clues yet.

TWO MEN INJURED IN BURNING OF LIME KILN

W A Bannister a 22 year old native of the county is held in the county jail awaiting transfer to Alturas California. He is charged with seduction and aiding a girl in a criminal act that could lead to her death. The girl is reported in a precarious condition and may not survive. Sheriff Taylor ordered the arrest. Bannister was captured at Athena and brought to Pendleton.
