A large morning fire in Dallas destroyed parts of the Worsham wholesale drug house, the Scarfs & O Connors printing supply building, and a printer’s supply office. Total loss estimated at $200,000. Fire crews fought the blaze across several hours, with damage extending to adjacent properties. Slow suppression and dense smoke hampered early efforts.
Pittsburg July 9 Peter Soffel ox warden at the Pittsburg jail files for divorce naming four co-respondents. His wife Kate is in the penitentiary and will make no defense.
In Washington on July 9 Secretary Hitchcock rejects speculation he will run for the West seat in the Senate, stating he has no candidacy plans or intentions to seek the position. The denial comes amid wavering talk of potential successors and political maneuvering at the capital.

Miss Jennie Harrison was fatally gored by a bull in a pasture near Ode Mab in Greer County Oklahoma on Sunday. Local authorities reported the tragedy and began investigations into the incident.
