Curtain Cleaning and Gas Meter Wording Confusion
An unclear advisory describes gas usage and billing in relation to curtain washing. It explains that the gas meter will determine charges and mentions washing lace curtains with a process involving a narrow outer strip and drying. The text appears garbled but centers on gas consumption and curtain care during cleaning.

Paris Tax Proposals Increase Inheritance and Income Levies
Paris July 3 The Newomsathon Dropeenle proposals to the Chamber of Deputies raise inheritance tax on legacies 19 000 to 60 000 francs to 2 percent and 7 1 2 percent on larger estates while untaxed below 200 francs. He seeks suppression of hereditary rights for intestate estates past the fourth degree. Inheritance tax is expected to yield 95 000 000 francs and a 1 percent income tax on gains over 1915 will add 100 000 000 francs. A 15 percent super tax on war profits could bring in 350 000 000 francs.
