Salem Ore Dec 29 Governor West sent telegrams to Senators Chamberlain and Lane refusing to have his name presented to President Wilson for consideration for vacancies on the Interstate Commerce Commission. The move follows pressure from the Oregon senators after they urged him to accept appointment.
The individual initially stated he would defer the matter to others but then withdrew his name from consideration to secure his admission. He advised the Oregon senators of the decision and left the outcome in others hands.
