Totten Mother Sentenced in Rancher Shooting Case
In Wenatchee on December 16, Mrs Della Totten was given a life term for murder in the first degree after she shot rancher James Sutton who crossed their farm in August. Her mother, 75 year old Mrs Beebe, received one to two years for manslaughter. Neither showed much emotion during sentencing.

Madison Jones longtime Pendleton resident and early Oregon settler died at home after eye trouble and declining health. Born in 1847, he came to Oregon in 1867, built a wheat and stock business, retired to Pendleton, and later underwent eye surgery in Portland.
