Five Killed and Fifteen Injured In Pacific Coast Coal Mine Disaster

A mine explosion at Pacific Coast Coal Company caused the deaths of five workers and seriously injured fifteen. A body was recovered, with the others believed trapped 1590 feet below the surface as the day shift descended. Officials suspect a gas buildup from a cave-in during the night.
