Mikekelson to Sail May 15 on Duchess Bedford

Arctic explorer Captain Mikkelson plans a two year polar cruise aboard the Duchess Bedford leaving May 16. Compromise reached in McVicker estate contest

The Chicago court settled the estate dispute of Mrs. Harriet G McVicker today to protect the family name. Minnie Effey, who challenged the will, will receive 17500 of a 270000 estate. Horace McVicker the step son, aged 64 and in poor health, could not endure a possible scandal and the deposition phase was halted.

Fresno Beats Los Angeles In Coast League Clash

Fresno won 5 to 2 over Los Angeles in a Pacific Coast League game at Fresno on April 14. Other scores included Oakland 4, Fresno 5? and San Francisco 6, Portland 2. Trace of Burglar Found at Umatilla Store Robbery

Sheriff Taylor traced the Sharon and Eddings store burglary in Umatilla last Saturday night. A large dark man sold many knives and pistols to locals, evading capture as the peddler left town before the sheriff arrived.
