College Men Held by Mexicans
Three former Minneapolis men, graduates of the University of Minnesota, are held prisoners by federals in Lower California as prisoners of war. Arthur Barks, Harold L. Downing, and Ralph Clawson wrote letters from captivity via bribed lines, their later escape attempt ending with a thigh wound and recapture. Passports, obtained through Burgess in Guadalupe, proved worthless after regime changes.
