Market notes from Washington millers and New York buyers indicate a firming patent flour market. Trade conditions in the sheep market remain unsettled as cattle shipments delay. wool trading is quiet. Millers have moved to advance export prices to about 3.80 per barrel, with expectations of further increases unless wheat values weaken. Present wheat holders demand higher prices, while millers are cautious, potentially forcing action soon.
Across regional markets, patent flour stocks are high while wheat supply is tight lifting ground product prices. Coarse grain remains firm as wool quiets with few sales in Oregon and lighter buying from eastern buyers. Spokane will host a major engineering project as a 1 million dollar contract ties North Coast railroad to Watson Flagg Standifer for a new line through Marshall canyon. The work will run 14 miles from Spokane to Cheney with no disturbance to existing Northern Pacific and Spokane Portland & Seattle tracks. G M Standifer claims 600 workers, a Spokane office, steam shovels, and an on site shop and repairs plan for the lengthy and difficult construction.
Mirza Ali Kitan has lived in the United States for 12 years and worked with the diplomatic service five times. A letter from Charles H. Evans of Somerville Massachusetts praises Cutieura products for a baby's facial skin eruption. After doctors failed, a box of Cutieura Ointment and Soap cured the infant, with a clear face and stopped crying. The note, dated April 19 1910, claims lasting relief and no recurrence.
