Multnomah and Hood River counties move to build a through highway from Bridal Veil to Hood River linking east and west sides of the state. Initial three miles to be built this year from Bridal Veil to Multnomah Falls, with major earthworks at Eagle Creek and a 19 percent grade reducible to 14. Estimated cost for 15 miles is 102233 dollars plus 15000 for grading, plus 102?290 for riprap segment. County leaders urge Hood River residents to commit funds to complete the link.
