English Programmes Without Advertisements in Britain
Anne Davies notes that English television largely lacks advertising and is government controlled via BBC funding. She describes a single commercial channel, the absence of colour TV, and a mix of English and American programming including Westerns, doctor shows, legal dramas, and cartoons, concluding that English views of America from these programs are not fully accurate.
