Ruling Permits Buying Needed Breeder Stock for Hogs

Farmers eligible under the 1934 corn hog contract may buy breeding stock if they have none on hand at signing. The interpretation, by County Agent Walter J Brown, allows replacements for hogs lost or sold, enabling 1922 and 1933 producers to raise hogs in 1924. Hogs purchased for breeding in 1924 do not count against feeder pig limits if offset by the two-year lease period, with base hogs counting only those from litters born during the lease.
