In a 1990s Milton scene, W G Edmondson holds a photo of the Milton fire that gutted Smith's studio. The image shows Milton Fire Department members including Edmondson and Lew Clendennen with the new fire apparatus the day after the blaze. The piece corrects Herald errors about the location and business: the fire occurred near Epperly’s Service Station, not east of Hoskins’ corner, and the bank had moved in 1896.
