Keep Father Son Tie Businesslike Farming Plan
A guide from extension economist I W Arthur outlines firm father and son farm partnerships. Proposals should align with the income tax year, start January 1, and use separate bank accounts, formal records, pre agreed decisions, and depreciation or interest on assets. Separate living quarters for the son and clear ownership shares based on contributions aid stability. Plans vary, with options from partnership income to stock purchase, and guidance is available from county extension directors.

Extension specialist William Zmolek notes full winter rations must balance digestible feed and protein to support calf development, suggesting a midrange approach to maximize profit without underfeeding.

Danger Follows You At Quitting Time
Some men quit work by the whistle and by the clock but safety remains a duty for all. The end of the day triggers more movement and risk, raising the chance of serious injuries in streets and homes. Remember quitting time is not safety’s end.
