Reeves County commissioners consider water sale limits and park closure
Commissioner Cecil Cothrun questioned water sale authority for Red Bluff while Armstrong said only excess water would be sold for recreation priorities. Salt Draw water would flow to Sand Lake as 80 percent federal funds enable the project. A bond election may be called after a feasibility study. The county also funds TB outreach facilities in Reeves and plans to close the Hwy 285 park with a fence. A Pioneer Canal plat was ordered and library books purchased. The 1972 tax rate was set at 95 cents per $100 with no discount on taxes.
