Pecos High Band to Name 1973 Sweetheart at Concert
At 8 in the Pecos High auditorium the 36th annual Band Sweetheart Concert will name the 1973 sweetheart. Under Bill Carrico the band and choir perform with Eagle Stage, concert, and symphonic bands. Selections include The Lord Bless You and Keep You, Song of Galilee, I’d like to Teach the World to Sing, What Color is God’s Skin, Carnaby Street, You’ve Got a Friend featuring Vicki Woods, 25 or 6 to 4 with Anne Slack Nancy Carpenter and Kim Blackwell, Filet of Sole and Battle Hymn of the Republic. After intermission the concert band, directed by John McGee, plays El Capitan Toccata for Band and The Hot Canary. The symphonic band conducts British Eighth Meditation from Thaïs Liturgical Music for Band The Stars and Stripes Forever and American Civil.

Officers complete basic law enforcement course
Eighteen county city and state officers completed Introductory Law Enforcement at the city court building. Affiliated with Howard County Junior College the three semester hour class was joined by a criminal law course by Walter Holcombe Reeves County Attorney. Several officers attended a dinner at the Holiday Inn sponsored by instructor Gene Upshaw.

Balmorhea Boy Listed as Better After Mishap
Ray Davis son of Mr and Mrs Harvey Davis was injured when a tandem stock trailer detached from a pickup driven by Pecos Cook and rolled onto the Davis lawn in Balmorhea. He had pelvic fracture and is in a body cast after being rushed to Kermit Memorial Hospital. the cause of the trailer coming loose could not be determined by DPS Patrolman Joe Mitchell.

Warrant Issued In Pecos Beating Case
