Scotty Clark Found Dead At Home Near Pecos
Alexander Scotty Clark 46 a West Texas resident was found dead at his ranch home near Pecos. Clyde Simmons a fellow war veteran found him Sunday morning. Death was from natural causes. He is survived by a mother and sister in Scotland. Funeral services were held at Pecos Funeral Home conducted by Rev. W. M. Turner with pallbearers including Onie Moorhead Joe Henson Young Bell Bill Cowden Harold Strong and Fenton D. Alley. Burial followed in the Cowboy plot at Fairview Cemetery.

Royce Blackmon a Texas Highway Patrolman stationed in Pecos for three years was transferred this week to the Abilene district with headquarters in Abilene. Notification was received Wednesday morning and the transfer becomes effective Monday May 15. Blackmon has served in the Western District for years, coming here from El Paso.

Annual field day for farmers and ranchers of West Texas is set for Saturday May 20 at the Texas Agricultural Experiment Station Balmorhea. Cattle feeding tests from winter will be closed with results discussed by Experiment Station Extension Service veterinarians and ranchers. Six lots of Hereford yearling steers fed on home grown seeds with milo cottonseed meal and alfalfa will be evaluated, plus hegari silage versus dry hegari fodder. Cattle will be graded by Fort Worth commission firms and sent to Fort Worth market after the meeting. machinery representatives will show new equipment and a barbecue lunch will be served.

Plaza Manager Dies In El Paso Hotelier Mrs Corda Enyart
Mrs Corda Enyart died in El Paso at Hotel Dieu on April 30 1939 after weeks of illness. She had lived in Pecos until a year ago and managed the Plaza Hotel. Last rites were given by Rev Cooper a Methodist minister in Jacksboro. Survived by two brothers and one daughter. her parents and other siblings had died previously. She was well known in Texas and New Mexico having operated hotels in both states.

Pecos Rodeo Sets 2500 Prize List For July Show
The tenth Pecos Rodeo and Celebration will run July 3 and 4 with a prize list totaling 2500 in cash and special awards. Manager Fenton D. Alley and Committee Chairman Buck Jackson prepared the rule book mailed to contestants. Events include steer decorating calf roping drones riding bull dogging cowgirls calf roping team roping and brahma bull riding. The show remains open to all regardless of prior participation and follows committee rules.
