Nine Thousand Called Up For June Induction
The Selective Service System announced about 9,000 men with lottery numbers 1 through 35 will report to the Army in June. The move completes a prior call for 15,000 across April to June, with most new inductees from classes 1-A and 1-A-O born in 1952. Some older men will also be ordered as deferments expire or postponements end. Local boards will issue orders by May 31, and registrants must receive at least 30 days notice.
