ECOS Sewer Project Near Half Finished On Schedule
ECOS reported the $105 450 sewer project is more than half done with May 10 as the target finish date. The ditching machine has moved from the disposal plant site near the Pecos River to the old ball park west. About 55 men are on site and mains will run north of the railroad after completing the west segment. Maps of All Farm Lands To Be Had
Reeves county maps remain at the county agent office in the courthouse and may be obtained by farmers. County Agent Ted Johnston said maps were created from chain surveys and plane tabling at scale. About half of Texas counties received aerial or bird’s eye versions. Reeves and Ward were not included in that group. The state AAA office prepared blueprints from the original maps for farmers to use. Farmers without maps are urged to visit Johnston’s office.

The Reeves county soil conservation committee finished recommendations for 1939 general crop allotments and sent them to the state board for final approval. Joe Newell age 70 died Sunday February 26 in a Billings Montana hospital after a week of illness following surgery. Funeral services were held at his Cody Wyoming home on Wednesday. He was a former Pecos resident and a large property owner in the district. Survivors include his wife a foster son Joe Jr and several relatives.
